b'In 2019 ACCESS TO CAREwe invested $1,862,038 to support IMPROVING ACCESS TO HEALTH CAREwith 14 community partners as part of our INTEGRATED CARE INITIATIVE. We have surpassed our 6-year goal in only 4 years, including: Providing integrated health care to 6,000 uninsured adults (ages 18-64) in Greensboro by 2021. Already, 35% of Greensboros uninsured people have received care.North Carolina has one of the highest percentages of uninsured people in the nation. Hundreds of thousands face a coverage gap. They do not meet Medicaids current eligibility rules and earn too little to qualify for marketplace subsidies. Uninsured people are more likely to:Forgo regular, quality health care or delay necessary care; Suffer from chronic medical conditions; Experience much higher mortality ratesmainly from untreated and preventable conditions;Struggle with mental health and substance use disorders. By providing Greensboros uninsured people with access to integrated caretreating the whole person through a combination of medical and behavioral health screenings and serviceswe can transform their lives and our community.Building on our momentum, in 2019, we began addressing the profound impacts of social drivers of healthwhere people live, what they eat and whether they have a support system. Once unmet needs are identified, our community partners connect people with essential community resources and services.8 CONE HEALTH FOUNDATION IMPACT REPORT'
