b'Wellness on wheelsFor thousands of community members across our five-county region, going to the doctor is much more complicated than scheduling an appointment and showing up. Many of our neighbors cant afford insurance or even co-pays. Transportation is a persistent issue as well. These and other factors keep patients from addressing health issues before they become serious threats. With strategic planning, a community health commitment and philanthropic support, doctors can make their rounds directly in the neighborhoods that need them mostthanks to a Mobile Medicine Fleet that takes them there. The Mobile Medicine Fleet launched in 2021. Now the goal is to add Mobile Dental, Mobile Pediatric and an additional Mobile Mammogram unit. Philanthropy will make this mission a reality. Our latest gift comes from the legal firm of Fox Rothschild. We see the impact of mobile medicine in our community, says Richard Coughlin, managing partner of Fox Rothschilds Greensboro office. Philanthropy allows Cone Health to take a successful initiative and extend the critical services and programming it provides across the region. The mobile fleet serves our community in powerful ways, adds Maureen Demarest Murray, co-chair of Foxs national Health Law Practice. We understand the importance of access to primary care and are eager to play a role in helping Cone Health reach as many people as possible.Step right upWalk-up care means that when community members spot our 40-foot motorhome or our sprinter van, they can access immediate care. This enables them to promptly address health concerns that might otherwise impact their longevity. Our Mobile Medicine Fleet makes it possible for individuals who are homebound, socially isolated or juggling multiple jobs to gain unprecedented access to urgent care and wellness checkups; crucial health screenings such as glucose, hemoglobin and pregnancy; school physicals; and diagnoses for chronic conditions. Community members who need follow-ups are given appointments at one of Cone Healths brick-and-mortar community care clinics. As part of a community-wide prevention effort, the Mobile Medicine Fleet visits locations all over the Piedmont Triad region, including at event venues, such as the Wyndham PGA Championship and the Greensboro Coliseum.24Cone Health Philanthropy'
