b'Healthcare Heroes Provide Care in PandemicTeams Step Up During COVID-19Earlier this year, when the threat of the coronavirus pandemic was becoming more and more of a potential reality for the counties we serve, Cone Health formed a multidisciplinary team of leaders from across our network to manage our response. Our COVID-19 Leadership Team directed the clinical and operational aspects of how we cared for our patients, our communities and each other. In March, we established a command center to develop structures and processes for providing safe patient care during the pandemicsafe for patients, their families and our Cone Health team members. The command center was staffed by operational and clinical leaders. The Green Valley campus opened in April as a dedicated COVID-19 hospital. Having this dedicated site allowed us to safely care for the sickest COVID-19 patients while reducing the risk of exposure and conserving PPE.Throughout the pandemic I have been continually amazed at the dedication that Cone Health has for its employees, patients and community. Through tight PPE supplies, fears of a largely unknown disease and seemingly daily change, everyone kept focus. We have remained right here with our patients and right here with one another.~Cynthia Snider, MD, medical director, Infection PreventionTesting is another important area of focus. We have partnered with local faith-based organizations, health departments and universities to offer COVID-19 tests to the people who live in the communities we are honored to serve. 56'
