Welcoming Cone Health’s
new chief executive officer
Cone Health moves into its next phase of leadership with the arrival of Paul Krakovitz, MD, FACS,
who has assumed the role of chief executive officer following a nationwide search.
Krakovitz brings more than two decades of experience leading nationally recognized health
systems, along with a physician’s perspective shaped by years of patient care. Most recently,
he served as an executive-in-residence at Cressey & Company, an investment firm focused on
innovating and improving America’s health care system. He’s held senior leadership roles at
Intermountain Health, including Desert Region president and senior vice president. As the region’s
first president, he oversaw significant growth and expansion.
Earlier in his career, Krakovitz spent more than a decade at the Cleveland Clinic, where he served
in executive and clinical leadership roles, including vice chair of surgical operations and chief of
pediatric otolaryngology and head and neck surgery.
“Dr. Krakovitz embodies the values that define Cone Health,” Board of Trustees Chair Dr. Yun
Boylston says. “The Board is delighted to welcome him as CEO and looks forward to the leadership
and compassion he will bring to our patients, communities, providers and team members.”
With deep clinical roots and a record of systemwide leadership, Krakovitz begins his tenure
focused on earning trust, strengthening access and advancing value-based care for the
communities Cone Health serves.
I am humbled and excited to be
named the next CEO of Cone
Health. As a practicing physician, I
believe deeply in the accountability
community health systems have in
earning trust. Excellence, compassion
and stewardship are our job every day.
Cone Health sits at the intersection
of outstanding care delivery and
significant community impact, which
makes this opportunity so meaningful
to me. I look forward to learning and
building alongside everyone.”
— DR. PAUL KRAKOVITZ, CEO, CONE HEALTH
