In 2016, the foundation partnered with New Leaf Society to create PARTNERS AND INVESTS a unique outdoor play area as part of the Burlington Arboretum project at Willowbrook Park. This year, we celebrated the completion of the arboretum and The TO BUILD SOLUTIONS SO Childrens Garden. Full of diverse plants and interactive activities, The Childrens Garden encourages exercise and EVERYONE HAS Astimulates learning through play and discovery. CHANCE TO THRIVE. SMARTERIN 2023, THE FOUNDATION Research shows that high-quality educational INVESTED opportunities in the first five years of life have a profound impact on physical, mental and economic health as an $1,972,586 adult. As part of its efforts around school readiness, the foundation facilitated the Kids in Transition to School (KITS) program for children who have not received any formal early childhood education. KITS created a transformative environment where students could build INTO ALAMANCE COUNTY, on their existing strengths and cultivate new skills to prepare them for kindergarten. THROUGH 71 PARTNERSHIPS AND INITIATIVES AIMED ATSTRONGERMAKING THE COMMUNITY The surgeon general calls social isolation and loneliness an epidemic and national health issue.In partnership with the Harwood Institute for Public Innovation, Impact HEALTHIER, Alamance released the Alamance Choosing Hope report. The report illuminates how people across the county see and experience life in Alamance County and highlights key areas for strengthening Alamances civic culture. This SMARTER is the first step toward the foundations efforts to bridge divides for greater connectiveness and community-led transformation.AND STRONGER.
