The Nursing Excellence Showcase is a hallmark 
annual event dedicated to celebrating exemplary 
nursing practice at Cone Health. Since its inception 
in 2015, it has grown into one of the most 
anticipated and inspiring events of the year.
At the heart of the showcase are frontline nurses 
who are doing exceptional work at the bedside. 
These participants bring their initiatives to life 
through creative and impactful presentations, often 
rooted in a simple but powerful question: Why are 
we doing this this way and how can we improve 
it? This spirit of inquiry reflects a core belief that 
innovation and empowerment begin at the bedside.
Projects are evaluated across multiple categories, 
including Innovation in Nursing and People’s Choice, 
fostering both recognition and friendly competition. 
The event also serves as a joyful kickoff to Nurses 
Week, bringing together celebration, connection 
and appreciation.
